Sweethope Crofts are a pair of Northumbrian stone cottages right at the edge of Sweethope Lough, justifiably famous for its trout and fly fishing, on Viscount Devonport's magnificent Ray Demesne estate. The estate borders both the Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park and offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of Northumberland. There are forests, both deciduous and evergreen, lakes, hills and crags offering the outdoor holidaymaker an almost inexhaustible choice of walks, hill and rock climbs in both summer and winter and, right outside the cottages, superb trout fishing (4 sessions included in the cost of their rent). Salmon fishing is also available on the River Tweed, about 1.5 hrs. away
