Beswick, Greater Manchester

Review of Beswick by Doreen Neild on October 13th, 2011
I used to live in Graham Street in fact I was born there, just over the road near Grey Mare Lane public house. When I was sixteen I used to teach tap and ballet dancing at the Ragged School can't remember the name of the street. There was a chip shop on the corner. I regularly visited the market with my mum on a Saturday afternoon even when I was eighteen I still loved going. Mum bought her green grocery there at the same stall every week I can't remember the ladies name but I can still see her face I think her and her husband owned it, they had a daughter. There was a picture house they called it in them days then was taken over by the Domino Club. Mum and Dad had to move as they were demolishing the houses but they never did anything with the ground has grass over the area. When I pass that way which is'nt often I get so upset I have promised myself one day I will either drive there or get the bus and stay there for a while. Brings back so many lovely memories and I do miss being there as I now live in Bury but I will return.
