River Sid, Devon
The River Sid flows through Sidbury and
Sidford to Sidmouth, Devon, in the south western region of England. The river is around 6.5 miles long, flowing from its source Crowpits Covert at 206 meters above sea level. It is fed along its course by water from the Snod Brook, Roncombe Stream, and the Woolbrook and by springs flowing from East Hill. The river joins the sea at the town of
Sidmouth , located along Dorset’s
Jurassic Coast , where it is crossed by Alma Bridge. The base of the river consists of silty mudstones and sandstones, covered by Greensand and clay-with-flints.
